About Roohi Kulkarni Kale

Roohi Kulkarni Kale is a certified Canine Trainer from Canines Can Care (India) and also holds certifications as a Canine Trainer & Behaviourists from The Northern Centre for Canine Behaviours (UK). She specializes in companion dog training, therapy dog work, and aggression, having completed specialized courses in these areas. Additionally, she has the title of Canine Groomer from Akil’s Pawsh Pawz. Roohi holds an MBA from IMT Nagpur and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Animal Protection Laws from NALSAR University, which further enhances her ability to support social causes. She has organized adoption camps to facilitate the adoption of homeless or unwanted dogs and has dedicated her efforts to helping street dogs in need. She also became an animal communicator which helps in facilitating behaviours programs better.

Roohi has been a pioneer in introducing reward-based, positive reinforcement methods for pet dog training in Nagpur. She not only assists families in finding the perfect puppy for their needs but also provides guidance from the very beginning of puppy ownership. Furthermore, Roohi actively contributes to social causes.

Through her venture, Coach the Pooch, Roohi’s goal is to help pet owners cultivate a strong bond with their dogs through effective communication, compassion, and commitment.

About Poorvaja Kumar

Poorvaja Kumar is the founder of Humans of Canines, an initiative dedicated to enhancing health and wellbeing by strengthening the human–dog bond. A Certified Canine Trainer and Dance Movement Therapist, Poorvaja works closely with therapy dogs to design and deliver impactful interventions.

She has recently contributed to the Routledge publication Dogs in Schools: Pedagogy and Practice for Happy, Healthy and Humane Interventions. With academic backgrounds in Social Psychology and Community Health from esteemed institutions such as the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), she brings a unique interdisciplinary approach to her work.

Poorvaja combines her expertise to create bespoke interventions for schools and hospitals, focusing on emotional wellbeing, social development, and therapeutic support. She has received specialised training in dog training and behaviour under renowned professionals including Shirin Dhabar, John Rogerson, and Chirag Patel.

About Chetna Malik

She is the Training Director and Founder, Unleash Dog Academy. She is the member of International Association of Canine Professionals, USA (IACP, USA), Certified Canine Trainer & Behaviour Specialist.

She consults and renders her services on obedience, service, therapy & aggression.

About Colonel (Dr) Pramod Kumar Chug (Retd)

He retired as Head of Police K9 Cell, Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India. He is the Chief Trainer & Managing Director (CMD), Police Dog Centre INDIA

India’s Top Military and Police K9 Trainer having Prepared and Deployed Hundreds of Dogs for Counter-Terror Operations.

An Army Veteran with Over 25 Years of Operational Experience in Army/RVC with Unique Distinction of Commanding ‘Specialized Dog Units’ for exceptional six terms; including once with Indian Special Forces and Twice with Elite NSG Black Cats.

The discussion will be related to teenage dogs followed by brief interactions on street dogs and Indies as pets.
